CD Glamorgan Baptism Index (1569-1837) does not list any Thomas Bassett baptized ca 1811.
I, David Attride, show Thomas as a son of Richard Bassett where earlier I showed him as a son of Charles Bassett) because the 1851 census shows Mariah (14) living with Richard and Elizabeth and a granddaughter. Also 1846 Will says that Daniel Bassett of St Mary Hill was his brother, that Daniel is a son of Richard & Elizabeth Bassett as proved by 1808 christening which lists parents as Richard & Elizabeth.

1838 Maria Birth Reg. lists his residence as Treforest, Lantwit Vardre. (PM-237)
He was listed as a laborer in 1850 (PM-79)
1841 Glamorgan Census: Thomas Bassett, aged 30, labourer in Crych-y-Gwas with Daniel Bassett (12), no relathionship shown; and Elias Bassett (8), no relationship shown. (PM-178.56)
Barrie Diamond says that Thomas had the following children: Daniel; Elias; Moses and Maria. (PM-186)
1846 Will: Thomas Bassett of Treforest, widower (PM-407):
I bequeth unto: Daniel Bassett; Elias Bassett; Moses Bassett and Mariah Bassett all my leasehold
property at Treforest ... to be sold at auction and divided between my above named children being
the issue of my former marriage. In the event of my getting married again I request that my wife
and the issue of such marriage if any, are to have equal share ... I appoint my brother, Daniel
Bassett of St Mary Hill and John Lewis of Treforest joint Executors this 30 day of July 1844.
