Notes for Thomas Bassett
Bassett Newsletter (Vol. IV Issue 2) has a table listing BASSETs of Beaupre from James Terzian. This table lists Sir Elias Bassett (who married Susan de la Bere ca 1329) as the father of Thomas Basset who died in 1423. (PM-212)

Archaologia Cambrensis Vol. 13 pg 10 has an article on Morgan Gam and says that the patent roll of Edward III (1331) shows that the younger male heir of Gilber de Turbervill clamied the manor of Landimor in Gower passing it through the families de la Bere and Basset. (PM-393.1B)
St. Hilary Church (dating to Norman origin) has an altar tomb with the effigy of a knight in armor, representing Thomas Basset of Beaupre (Christopher Bassett’s book says it was high father, John) who died in 1423. Both arms are missing and the face is mutiliated. (PM-178.2) See file: IMG_0105.jpg for a photo of it.
